Sergeant Dion Ashari

Sergeant Dion Ashari is the assigned lead of the mercenary fireteam aboard the Lady Kiavyra. One of the veteran members of the Living Dead PMC, Dion is currently in his last contract tour before retirement. While he is sympathetic to the cause of the locals who hired him, he prioritizes the safety of his team over all other considerations. It is his firm belief that you can't enjoy your contract's pay if you're dead.

Dion is the youngest among eight in a sizeable family and hails from the urban world of Avalon, a frontier colony of the Alliance of Sol Systems bordering the Vardia Star League. A former law enforcer and veteran of the human-kasatha war between the Alliance and the League, Dion was scouted to join the Living Dead PMC shortly after the war ended. Due to the Avalon economy tanking after becoming one of the battlefields of the war, Dion was unable to find employment. Even in his old police precinct where he served for five years, he was rejected after failing his psychological exams but mostly due to the budget constraints of the department. Scouted by a fellow veteran and friend, Dion was enticed by the high pay that the Living Dead PMC offer and joined to help support his recovering family. He worked as a mercenary for the next two decades, gradually saving enough money to not only support the education of his youngest nephews and nieces but to retire back into a comfortable civilian live. Considered in the company as one of the "old men", Dion became a respected member due to his skills as a combatant, tactician, and as an instructor for new recruits preaching the ways of pragmatism over heroism while contradicting emphasizing his "No man left behind" mentality.

He is now at on his last deployment in the Avorora-Pirate conflict. Dion looks forward to returning home, hoping that he can reintegrate in the civilian life and while avoiding the near constant pestering of his elderly mother to raise a family and find a wife.
