Chief Engineer Adina Broklaw and Wanda

Lieutenant Adina Broklaw is the chief engineer of the Daggoroh-class corvette, Lady Kiavyra. She is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, and when necessary, upgrading of the ship. In addition to this, she and her engineers also provide equipment repair and printing services for the crew.

Adina is a local of the Tarana colony and was born and raised in one of the colony's equatorial cities. She came from a simple commoner family and is the firstborn among four children. In her early years, she found herself fascinated by the work of her parents, her father being a well-respected structural engineer, and her mother who was a mechanic by trade. Them bringing work back home had exposed Adina to the world of machinery at an early age. Inspired by her parents and in combination to her interest with voidships and aircrafts, she sought to follow her parents' footsteps and aspired to be an aerovoid engineer.

When she had reached the right age and had finished the proper prerequisite education, Adina enrolled and was accepted into the local university where she took their aerovoid engineering course. Due to the financial state of her family, Adina was forced to work multiple jobs to help support her own education and that of her siblings. While her experience was hard and stressful, she devoted herself to her chosen field and after five long years, the young dwarf had officially earned her degree with high academic honors. Adina was then employed in the private sector, working for several companies in Tarana for a decade until the recent surge of pirate activity in the system and the increase of raids committed against the Tarana population.

An attack on Adina's home city by a pirate battlegroup had resulted to her father being severely crippled while her and her sister narrowly evading death. After that experience, Adina hardened her resolve and enlisted in the Avrora Void Guard as a ship engineer, desiring to put her skills to good use in helping maintain and develop new solutions for the defense fleet's ships who were battling these pirates. While she lack the usual military training, Adina was fast tracked through the training course partly to the dire need of the defense fleet for active engineers on their ships, and due to her proven track record in her chosen field. Upon completion of her basic training, she was immediately assigned to the Lady Kiavyra where she became the ship's senior ranking engineer, her profession and experience affording her the rank of a lieutenant.

Wanda is the ship mascot of the Lady Kiavyra. Thought to have hailed from the human capital of Earth, Wanda was rescued by the marines of the Lady Kiavyra during an anti-smuggling operation. Upon discovery, it was determined that Wanda along with several other animals under the smugglers' care had undergone heavy genetic modification as per the request of the smugglers' clients, all of whom were later on arrested. Their DNAs has been spliced and with those of other animals with Wanda in particular being an Earthborn pigeon, had spliced DNA of a Brethedian Vorac and a Primorian Roc though much to the chagrin of the smugglers, they underestimated the inherent dominance of the pigeon's natural DNA. Instead of handing over Wanda to the Animal Control and Protection Agency for processing and eventual release, Captain Fariel opted to officially adopt Wanda due to the boost in morale the avian seemingly had on the crew. The pigeon had grown particularly attached with the ship's chief engineer, Lieutenant Broklaw and can be often seen nesting in the engineering decks or perched on top of the chief engineer's head.
